This two day Conference has theme of celebrating Scottish research and collaboration. The programme will feature updates from key organisations across Scottish brain health and dementia reserarch. Speakers will include researchers from across career stages and people with lived experience.

There will be a lot of opportunity for catching up with colleagues, networking and poster presentations.

More details, including the Conference programme, will be published here shortly. If you’re not already, make sure to follow the SDRC on social media and become a member to get all latest Conference updates.

Poster & Early Career Researcher Speaker Abstracts

At our Conference, we want to showcase as much talent within our research community as possible- across all disciplines and career stages.

Therefore we have two opportunities available for attendees to present their work, either through presenting a poster or by a 10 minute talk on your work. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase and share your research with other delegates, find a new audience for your research and meet potential future collaborators.

There will also be awards for the best posters and speakers.

Closing date for poster and speakers submissions is Monday 13 May 2024.

Brain Health ARC

The Scottish Brain Health Alliance for Research Challenge (ARC) is a project to create multi-disciplinary, cross-sector teams to strengthen and accelerate bids for major research grants, including funding from overseas.

The aim of the ARC is to create and support new collaborations with a shared vision of improving our nation’s brain health, making Scotland the ‘go to’ destination for brain health research, and ultimately finding solutions to the societal challenges associated with brain ageing.

Activities include supporting meetings, early career researcher training, public engagement and small grant funding.

Neuroprogressive and Dementia Network

The NHS Research Scotland Neuroprogressive and Dementia Network (NDN) works to understand diseases including dementias,  Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and Multiple Sclerosis.

They oversee a wide range of research studies including research into the underlying mechanisms and causes; prevention; new symptoms; disease-modifying treatments and better care of the above diseases.

The NDN supports researchers from across a range of disciplines and deliver this research across Scotland in a wide range of healthcare settings, including primary and community care, mental health services and acute hospitals.
